more art, less pain
Sometimes the wide-open freedom of being an artist is the source of extraordinary joy—and sometimes it’s a wellspring of anxiety. At one point or another, all artists grapple with worries and doubts related to the conditions of our field, especially where they meet the demands of contemporary life. You might call these issues by various names like creative overwhelm (“I have too many exciting ideas”), procrastination (“I’ll go to the studio… tomorrow”), scarcity thinking (“It’s a competition, and I’m gonna lose”), or burnout (“What’s the point, anyway?”), but the effect is the same: You feel stuck, frustrated, and you’re not making your work.
Let’s change that. As a coach, I support you to bring your creative work into the world with clarity, focus, ease, and grace. Why these four elements? Because –
clarity brings your aspirations closer
focus powers your creative direction
ease debunks that stale old “suffer for your art” stuff
grace allows you to fully inhabit your life.
Our work together will support you to move past your stopping points, identify your authentic next steps, and build the practice and career you want.
“the clarity and acuity with which Bean helped me navigate the otherwise-mess that is my professional life was invaluable. This year I set a higher intention of achieving recognition, and winning [a $50,000 award] felt directly related to the support structure I had through coaching with Bean. It was such a 10. It was an 11.”
